KINABUTI SPEAKING AT THE ITALIAN NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Kinabuti At The National Conference On International Development Talks
About Ethical Fashion And Dare2Dream.

Kinabuti, A social enterprise based in Nigeria is aimed  at
developing entrepreneurship among women and youths in Africa was
present at the First National Conference on International Cooperation
and Development organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
and Development. The conference spanned two days of intense activities
and interchange of ideas and experiences.

The Conference was opened by Angelino Alfano, the Minister for Foreign
Affairs and International Development. In his opening speech, he
talked about immigration and his experience in Sicily where he had
witnessed the arrival of boats. He implored the Italian government to
continue supporting foreigners arriving the Italian Coast lines.

Also present at the conference was the PreHsident of Congo DRC, Faustin
Archange Touadera. He addressed the crowd of a more than a thousand
people which included students from universities, media
entrepreneurs and experts, on the subject of cooperating together with
the Italian Minister for Economic Development, Carlo Calenda and EU
Commissioner on International Development.

Letizia Moratti, an Ex Mayor of the city of Milan and President of
Fondazione e4Impact, a social entreprise working with African
Universities involved in developing entrepreneurship, opened the
Private Sector panel on the issue of private companies and
organizations, creating jobs and sustainable development.


At this round table discussion, and among personalities like Alberto
Piatti - Vice President of ENI, Licia Mattioli, Vice President for
Internationalization of Confindustria, there was Caterina Bortolussi,
Co-Founder of Kinabuti who shared the experience and vision of
KINABUTI in such a moving and direct way that Rita Manella from the
Ministry of International affairs commented, “Her humanity in telling
the story of Kinabuti and the story of their dreams has given the
event such an emotional moment, that has opened the minds and the
heart of the public opinion, especially of the young students present,
to the themes of sustainability and ethical business. Caterina’s
words, though simple but at the same time direct, have channeled a
strong message of solidarity, in line with the objectives of the
conference however from a different point of view than the
institutional and technical.”

Caterina finished her presentation surrounded by the entire auditorium
“ parco della Musica” clapping their hands and feeling emotional and
touched.



The conference was indeed a success in terms of participation and
contributions made by prominent and relevant speakers who also
participated in ROUND TABLES of discussions with the objective of not
just discussing, but creating concrete solutions.


Kinabuti, the ethical fashion label based in Nigeria with the objective to
develop entrepreneurship amongst women and youths in Africa was invited to
